Compact oval with moderate 3.8 mm dome. Four-rayed asterism at oblique angles, diagnostic of monoclinic diopside. Strong star visible under sun and penlight.

The stone shows the rare goldish rays, not the way more common silver. White areas in some photos are natural internal transparency captured by camera lighting. To the naked eye, the stone appears solid black apart from its star
